Homegunsafety.com was founded with the intent of keeping people, particularly children, safe with and from firearms. Our primary instructor Mike Burchman is :

 

	a Massachusetts State Police Certified Basic Firearms Safety Course Instructor
	a Utah State BCI Certified Concealed Firearms Instructor
	a National Rifle Association (NRA) Instructor of Home Firearm Safety and Basic Pistol Courses

Mike has taught with the Gun Owners’ Action League (GOAL), Worcester Pistol and Rifle Club, at the Assabet Valley Center for Continuing Education in Marlboro and with the Milford Community Adult Education Program. He's been a member of the Worcester Pistol and Rifle Club and Gun Owners’ Action League since 1989, has been a Firearms Owner since 1984 and is formerly the  the Pin Shoot Chairman at Worcester Pistol and Rifle.  

Mike has also participated in Concealed Carry Courses for personal protection by GOAL and Tactical Defensive Pistol Courses by Personal Security Institute. Mike prefers to instruct in small groups to give everyone personal attention. However, should the need arise to instruct a larger group, Mike will utilize other instructors that have some of the same training as does Mike. Links to GOAL, NRA, and the State may be found on the Links of Interest Page. Other instructors that may assist in training have also undergone the same extensive training that Mike has.

	Help them and their families stay safe around firearms and prevent any accidents from occurring.
	Satisfactorily complete a training course so they can obtain their License To Carry (LTC) or Firearms ID Card (FID).
	Make them feel comfortable with the Use, Storage, and Transportation of Guns.
	Teach them various shooting positions.
	Offer tips on how to select, clean, and maintain a firearm that is right for their needs.
